看似主题老套但实际相当“有料”的电影。笑点很足，表面的黑色幽默之下是对资本主义和商人本质的批判，讽刺的部分相当到位且毫不刻意，跳楼中途出现的天使情节令人想起《生活多美好》。科恩兄弟的叙事风格和镜头画面的视觉效果都令人相当舒适，不过同时也缺乏亮点。蒂姆罗宾斯相当适合这类角色。
